Our Hope and Goal:
First off… WELCOME! Browse through the tabs to find out all about us and what you can expect on a Sunday morning and hear an encouraging word and welcome from our Senior Pastor.
We know that when looking for a church to call home there are many thoughts, questions and even some anxieties that come with the process. Our hope and goal with this site is to alleviate some of the stresses and bring some clarity to your questions and concerns. This is a brand new website and we are excited to have it up and running, with that being said, it is a work in progress as well. Please take your time, look around and make sure you explore all areas of the ministry. In the end if you walk away with questions that have not been answered or anything that has not be presented clearly, please feel free to email us and we will be sure to reach out to you to help answer any questions you may have.
Leadership Team:
The leadership of SHC consists of our Senior Pastor and leadership team which is comprised of directors who oversee particular ministries as well as paid staff.
Pastor Donald Parton, Senior Pastor
As the primary teaching pastor, Pastor Don has a passion for carefully unpacking the truths of Scripture. He has served at Safe Harbor Church for eight years, and is passionate about developing new leaders for the Kingdom of God. Pastor Don also serves as chair of the Ministerial Review board for the Church of God of Prophecy in Michigan and on the board of Church Publications Editorial Task Force for the Church of God Prophecy International. He and his wife Debbie of 33 years have two grown daughters, with three grandchildren. Pastor’s emphasis is to reach as many people as we can in Berrien County with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Deborah Parton, Intercession and Prayer
Debbie has served Safe Harbor Church since 2003 and has been a catalyst for prayer and intercession. Pastor Debbie knows that prayer changes the atmosphere and her passion is to lead others into the presence of the Lord. Debbie is the wife of Senior Pastor Parton and has served faithfully in this role for many years. Together they have led others into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and maturity. Safe Harbor Church is built on prayer and intercession and Pastor Debbie leads the charge into the throne room of God.
Casey Johns, Administrative Assistant and Director of Worship
Casey brings an attitude of praise and excellence in both of her roles here at SHC. Her heart to share the love of Christ is evident to everyone she comes in contact with. Casey has been with Safe Harbor church since December of 2010. She’s a 2006 graduate from Valley Forge Christian college with her B.S. in Psychology which truly reflects her heart and compassion for others.
Todd Johns, Director of Children’s Ministry
Todd’s heart and passion is to teach the word of God and equip others to find their giftedness. He has served in various positions from assistant pastor to family ministries and has helped plant 3 churches in the past 10 years. He has been with Safe Harbor Church since December of 2010. Todd’s a 2007 graduate from Valley Forge Christian College with his B.A. in Pastoral Ministry with a minor in Youth. Todd and Casey are happily married with two beautiful daughters, Olivia and Madeline.

What we believe:
